I was shocked by the amount of memorials i saw along roadsides when in Crete, but the mountain roads there were terrifying so its understandable sadly

Ron, there's a whole lot of those monuments, everywhere in Arizona. So many bad drivers in that state. A lot of drunk driving going on, too. Arizona drivers make Minnesota drivers look like professional drivers!

There's several roadside tributes to memorialize terrible loss of life due to accidents here in Wisconsin. We remember friend Brian and his Uncle with an "Adopt a Highway" sign/ roadside cleanup pledge. Also a young man remembered with a large shrine-like tribute near city Highway exit ramp. There's always many items including an electric guitar standing upright, different guitars, over the many years since that accident that killed him. RIP

Thank you for this great adventure. Back in the early 60's, my family's summer vacation was a road trip from Chicago to Fresno, California where my grandfather lived. We passed thru a town out west called Silverton. Not sure if this is the same place. There was a Wild West show there with actors portraying a big gunfight in the street. Bad guys getting shot off the roofs of buildings, running out of the saloon and all that. Pretty impressive stuff at the time for me watching the sheriff mowing down the bad guys.

With being ejected from his truck makes you wonder if he would have survived if wearing his belt. Sometimes belts save life’s. But if you have your belt on and accidentally go over a rail into a body of water it’s much harder to get out if you’re not unconscious. We will never know. Sometimes it’s meant to be even though how sad it is. RIP

A good many of the roadside memorials are actually maps to travel. hidden signs denoting where safe harbor can be found, or handouts like food and medical are and are maintained by traffickers. Colors, symbols, flowers, material color how it's draped etc...each have a hidden directive. JS....
